- We don’t accept any terms and conditions from any third party to cover any story or new item. It is the sole discretion of the editorial team.

- We respect intellectual property and have zero tolerance for plagiarism.
- We are accountable for the content that we publish on Spiceworks.
- We endeavor to cater to the content needs of our audiences without compromising on our ethical standards and principles.

Guest Articles
The Spiceworks Guest Author Program is an opportunity for industry practitioners to share their voices and perspectives with an audience of millions of tech professionals. We welcome bylined submissions suitable for our audience from vendor executives, analysts, researchers and IT practitioners. However, successful submission doesn’t guarantee publication, and it is subject to the editor’s approval. The content should be vendor-neutral and typically focus on advancements in technology and feature insightful commentary. The editorial team will not accept articles with vendor-specific information or product verbiage.
The following guidelines will help your content deliver the most value to you and Spiceworks users.
Content Vision
Guest Articles should:
- Highlight technology adoption challenges and opportunities, as well as offer ideas, perspectives and approaches to address them by referring to supporting research and/or describing relevant industry use cases.
- Help readers make more informed tech evaluation and implementation choices.
- Help readers leverage existing Tech solutions more effectively.
- Help further the reader’s skills and career as a Tech professional.
Content Objectivity & Transparency
Guest Articles should:
- Be original (previously unpublished and non-plagiarized) and exclusive to Spiceworks.
- Be platform and vendor-neutral.
- Be non-promotional and present an all-around view.
- Be fair and transparent by offering multiple perspectives.
- Accurately attribute quotes and statistics.
- Survey-based or data-based findings referenced should not be older than six months from the date of submission
- For examples of published Guest Articles, click on the Expert Insights tab on the homepage.
- In addition to our Submission Guidelines above, you agree that none of the works submitted include any content that:
- is defamatory, harmful, hateful, harassing, racially offensive or abusive.
- constitutes professional, medical, health, investing or financial advice; or discloses personally identifiable information.
- violates another person’s rights, including their copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Guest Article Specifications
Each guest article draft must be accompanied by the following information:
- Topic: A list of topics can be found under the “Explore” button on the top left of the homepage.
- Introduction/ Summary: 30-40 words describing the article’s focus and takeaway for the reader.
- Length: 1000–1200 words. Longer submissions should be discussed in advance.
- Author details:
- Title/ designation of the author, Company name, a 100-word professional biography,
- Company website/ blog URL,
- Twitter and LinkedIn handles for the author or their company,
- Author’s recent headshot (200 x 200 pixels)
- Author’s email address – for author profile creation in the backend. Please be assured that this will not reflect anywhere on the website.
Search Optimization
For the most effective discoverability, follow these best practices:
- Title: 6 to 10 words with at least one thematic keyword.
- Article Body: Up to 3 keywords included in an organic and relevant manner. Sub-headings (must-have), bullet points, and numbering should be used when applicable. Voice should be conversational and use questions to start the discussion.
- Hyperlinks: No more than two external hyperlinks to relevant vendor-neutral content or quotes, survey reports and research study. A separate hyperlink to the author’s website will be included in the author’s on-page bio.
- Images: Images should be accompanied by descriptive alt-text for accessibility and discoverability.
- Non-text article submissions: Infographics, slideshares, or video-based content submissions must be accompanied by a 500-word transcript or description.
- Amplification:: When possible, mention and hyperlink your guest article in other articles or blogs as well as the “In the Press” section of your website. Share the article on Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social media sites and tag Spiceworks.
- Uniqueness in the narrative: The submissions with best ideas, recent trends and innovations, fresh topics (not covered on Spiceworks until now) will definitely find their way onto the top SERPs and generate a loyal audience for the author.
Content Submission and Publication Timelines
- Once you commit to an article, please submit it within four weeks.
- Due to the high volume of content we manage, publish dates can’t be confirmed in advance but are typically within three to four weeks of submission (depending on the existing queue).
- Upon publication, you will receive an email with a link to the published article. Please avoid follow-ups for the first three weeks.
- We tend to operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Nevertheless, if you are/ represent one of our existing guest authors, the review and publication of your draft will be expedited as we value “repeat contributors.”
Other Content Submission Guidelines
- Submission of content does not guarantee publication.
- Republishing Content: You can republish a guest article (blurb format or as-is) already published on Toolbox on your company website/ blog with the mention – “This article was originally published on Spiceworks” with a hyperlink to the original content. Also, if citing the article in one of your own blogs, please credit the author and hyperlink back to the original content. This applies even if you are the original author of the content being cited yourself.
- Removal of Published Content: By submitting an article on Spiceworks, you agree that we own the original URL in perpetuity and we do not entertain any takedown requests.
- Hyperlinks:
- All in-article hyperlinks are subject to editorial approval and may be removed at Spiceworks’ discretion.
- To maintain objectivity, the CTA to the author’s own company website, other vendor’s websites, a downloadable asset, registration for an event, company’s solution/ services portfolio, etc. will be deemed unacceptable and removed during review.
- We do not entertain any link insertion or link exchange requests, unless approved by the editorial team.
- Content Edits: Spiceworks reserves the right to make editorial changes for clarity, tone, and style. Promotional content and unnecessary brand references will be edited out.
- Content Placement & Ownership: Spiceworks reserves the right to place any guest article in any section of the site that it deems fit, including on any of its sister properties across the Ziff Davis Network, including in newsletters and other promotional content. By submitting an article on Spiceworks, you agree that such works can be repurposed and promoted on YouTube and other online video/social platforms. In all such cases, content ownership and author credits will remain with the author (you) and such ownership and authorship will be duly acknowledged.
- Audio/ Video Content: Any audio/ video content submitted as part of the Guest article drafts will be primarily uploaded on the Spiceworks YouTube channel for the links to be embedded on Spiceworks website. A portion or the entire part of these multimedia files may be amplified on our social channels with a due credit to the guest author.
- Sponsorship Options: All the Editorial initiatives related to Guest article contributions are gratis (no costs evolved) and we strictly maintain objectivity for the content covered.
