Yelp Introduces ‘Views’ Counter to Inspire Members to Contribute More

Yelp, the online platform for organic local business reviews, ratings and descriptions, has announced the launch of a new feature that shows members how many people viewed their contributions. The launch of the feature is intended to make Yelp members feel valued by knowing how many people benefit from their contributions in the last 90 days.

Jake B, Product Manager, Yelp, explained in a releaseOpens a new window , “Now users in all Yelp countries can see just how many people are benefiting from their contributions on Yelp with the addition of total views for the last 90 days of their reviews, photos, and profile.”

The new feature is available for both mobile and desktop but shows the statistics only to Yelp users, who can see the exact number of visitors who viewed their profile, photos and reviews. The feature collects data from all the platforms and devices.

Founded in 2004, Yelp has recorded 35% YOY growth in the number of reviews, which now stands at more than 90 million. In addition to reviews, the platform also enables visitors to find various lists and events, as well as starting discussions with other Yelp members.
