SAN FRANCISCO – October 18, 2007 – At the Web 2.0 Summit, Spiceworks™, Inc., the provider of the industry’s first free ad-supported IT management software, today announced that it was selected from among 130 applicants to present as part of the conference’s Launch Pad event for early stage companies. Spiceworks was included in the 16 companies selected for the final round and one of six asked to present onstage at the prestigious Launch Pad event.
“Supporting the delivery of software with advertising is no longer the sole domain of Web 2.0 consumer software applications,” said Jay Hallberg, founder and vice president of marketing for Spiceworks. “It is now firmly entrenched in the business world as well. We’re honored to share with Web 2.0 Summit attendees what we’ve learned about successfully delivering ad-supported business software to 160,000 users in nearly every corner of the globe.”
