Spiceworks and IDG Expand Partnership into Germany

Co-branded Version of Free IT Management Software for Small Businesses Now Available for Download on TecChannel.de

MUNICH – January 10, 2008 – Spiceworks™, Inc., the provider of the industry’s first free ad-supported IT management software, today announced that it has expanded its partnership with IDG to include distribution of a co-branded version of the Spiceworks IT Desktop in Germany. The news follows on the heels of a recent deal between IDG U.K. and Spiceworks to distribute the Spiceworks IT Desktop for download to readers of Techworld, the U.K.’s leading site for network managers. As part of the new agreement with IDG Germany, a co-branded version of the Spiceworks IT management application will be available for download on TecChannel. Users of the application will also have access to pre-loaded TecChannel RSS news feeds within the downloadable Spiceworks IT Desktop.

In addition to their co-branded distribution deal, Spiceworks and IDG also announced that TecChannel will represent advertising sales for Spiceworks in Germany. The Spiceworks IT Desktop is supported by displaying relevant, contextual ads within the application on topics that are useful to IT professionals.

The Spiceworks IT Desktop is currently being used by more than 200,000 IT professionals in 185 countries around the world, including over 40,000 users throughout Europe. The software, which is designed for small and medium organizations with networks of up to 250 devices, allows IT professionals to automatically discover, inventory, monitor, track and report on the hardware and software running in a network, while having access to an integrated help desk and IT expert community collaboration capabilities.
