Microsoft has reported that several of its services and applications have been victims of widespread outages. These include Azure, 365, Outlook, and more. Within a few hours on June 30, Downdetector received thousands of reports about the outages.
The incident comes just a few weeks after a global IT outage left over 8 million Windows devices inaccessible, affecting organizations across multiple sectors. The company has also fallen from grace following a series of cyber attacks that made the US government issue a scathing report urging company-wide changes.

The tech giant on social media platform X stated that it was investigating the reports and apologized for the incident. Microsoft also confirmed that the outage has affected the Microsoft 365 admin center, Entra, Intune, and Power Platform services. It also reassured users that services such as OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Teams were unaffected. The issue also gains weight as the company is set to present its latest financial reports by the end of the day.
According to Microsoft, the incident is thought to have occurred due to a network infrastructure issue that affected access to Azure, which powered several of the company’s services. However, the company has not yet published any details about the exact nature of the problem.
The company has stated that more information about the outage would be available to them via the admin center under the designation MO842351. Microsoft said it had deployed changes to networking configurations and implemented failovers to alternate networking paths to mitigate the issue. While there have been some improvements in service availability since the beginning of the outage, a full recovery is yet to be confirmed.
